Pre-Baby Stock Up
Hey there! Lately, I have been in major nesting mode. I think John might be ready to get rid of me if I move anything else around while I tidy and organize. But, what can I say? I have only 4 more weeks before little man’s estimated D-Day. My mind is in overdrive thinking of all the time I won’t have once there are two small humans to care for throughout the day. I’m a little terrified. One of the things on my goal list before Christian arrives is to be on a better meal planning schedule. I’m absolutely terrible at meal planning. I don’t like cooking very much at…

Alex at 21 Months
Excuse me while I wipe my tears. My little guy is going to be two in less than 3 months. He’s going to be a big brother in less than 2. He’s sleeping in a toddler bed all night long, all by himself. He feeds himself all of his meals and knows some letters of the alphabet by sight. He recently started stringing two words together and he is actually starting to make sense to me when he talks. We can basically have a conversation. He holds my hand and walks into a store now. He gives his baby brother hugs, kisses and high fives via my big ole belly…

An Organized Linen Closet
I admit it. I have been procrastinating tackling this project. But, it is on my resolution list to get more organized, so here goes nothing! Now, this is not a Pinterest Perfect linen closet. I used what I had on hand and I’m not going to fold my sheets into perfect little rectangles so they all stack nicely on top of each other. Sorry, Martha. I don’t want to feel pressure when I am organizing and I want to make sure I will actually stick with it. Looking up “How to Fold Sheets” and “How to Perfectly Fold Towels” just wasn’t going to cut it for me. I know for…

Football Crochet Hat – Free Pattern!
Hello there & Happy New Year! It’s sure been a while. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! We are finally home and recovering from our 10 day trip visiting family and friends. We were able to visit John’s parents and sisters (& their families) for the first part of the trip. Alex loved playing with his cousin Oliver! Then we made our way farther up north to Michigan to visit my parents, grandparents and sister (& her family). Alex was on cousin overload after spending a few days with Parker! He couldn’t believe his luck =] We are glad to be home and so thankful for the…

Six Months Down…
Holy Moly! Can you guys even believe that I am six months pregnant?? I can’t. Until I’m running to the bathroom every 30 minutes. Then I’m all like oh yeah, duh! Well, just wanted to share a little update on what’s going on with me (& us) as we all prepare for Baby R to make his appearance. First things first, so I can stop calling him “Baby R #2”, his name is going to be Christian Theodore Reineke. Christian, just because we like it and Theodore, after my grandfather (on my mom’s side). It has a pretty nice ring to it, don’t ya think? We couldn’t be more excited…

The Kitchen Windows Play Dress-Up
Well, we finally covered up our big windows in the kitchen. It has been on our to-do list pretty much since we moved in because at night, you can see right into our house. Luckily, our back yard is wooded and there isn’t really anybody who can look in, but you never know. It was just super creepy walking by these gigantic windows at night and not being able to see out of them. The reason it took us so darn long to put curtains up was because I wasn’t sure I wanted curtains in our eat-in kitchen. My first reason was because I thought they might look weird with…

Entryway Organization – Phase 1
I know, I know. I keep posting “phase 1” type organizing posts. And by keep, I mean this is my second one. Sorry, guys! This is my life. I am so scatter-brained that I can’t just stick to one project at a time. If I see something is getting out of hand, I have to do a quick fix until I really think about what I want to do with the space. Here is what I was looking at that was driving me crazy. By the way, this has to be the most awkward/dark space to photograph. I’m the guilty party here. That coat rack in the corner is full…

Craft Room Organization – The Before
Morning! Today I am unveiling my most embarrassing room. You guys, this room is so in need of some organizing love. Don’t judge me. Let me just show you. There are so many random things in there. Dog toys, a bike, a nursing pillow, a diaper insert (???), a carpet cleaner and a picnic basket. I could go on. It’s one of those rooms where I’m just not sure where to start. So, I started small. Here are my craft paints and I hate having them in that basket. I can’t find anything. So, I took them all out and was surprised by how many I had…

Reclaimed Fence Entertainment Center
I am so excited about this project I’m sharing today! And so proud of the Mister for taking on this task! For about 2 1/2 years, we have been using our coffee table as a TV stand. It was meant to be a temporary fix when we lived in our apartment while we saved up for a big Ikea entertainment center, which would have gone perfect on our giant blank wall we had there. Then we bought our house and we no longer had a big open wall for an entertainment center (glad we never got around to buying one!). So, we stuck with the coffee table in the corner…

Foiled Organizing Plans
I had every intention of using nap time today to organize our linen closet and write up an organizing post. Then nap time ended up looking like this… Which, who can really be upset about that? It was one of those days where he clung on for dear life when I tried to put him in his crib. Heartbreaking. Gets me every time! So, here we are, snuggling and catching up on Scandal and getting nothing done =] At least I got the house vacuumed and the kitchen cleaned this morning! These moments always make me think about how fast he is growing up. I don’t want to get all…
