Free Crochet Pattern – Hexagon Blanket

Looking for a new favorite blanket??  Well, you’re welcome, because here it is.  We fight over this blanket in our house and I usually win because I made it 😉

You can use any weight yarn with the coordinating hook but I highly suggest using chunky yarn (I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in Moonlight which is a super bulky 6 weight yarn)  Another good choice would be Bernat Blanket yarn because have you felt that??  Sooo squishy, soft and warm !

Anyways, this works up quick and you’ll love it forever and ever.  The end.

An ad free PDF version of the pattern is available in my Etsy Shop for a small fee 🙂

Tassels
  • Wrap yarn around a book or something similar 15 times.  (I used a DVD case, short side)  Cut one end and keep folded.
  • Pull folded end through one corner of blanket halfway, pull cut end though and secure by pulling tight.
  • Repeat on each corner of the blanket (6 tassels)
NOTES
  • You can use any yarn with coordinating hook depending on the look you are are going for!  The super bulky yarn I used gives is a warm and cozy feel while a finer yarn might make it look more polished.  You will need to do more rounds using a finer yarn.
  • Ch 2 at beginning of each round does not count as first stitch unless otherwise noted.
  • The first stitch in the round will always be worked in the same stitch as ch 2.
  • The last stitch will always we worked in the ch 2 join from the end of the last round
  • Finished size using Wool- Ease Thick and Quick and a P hook is approximately 60 inches corner to corner diameter

Please tag me on instagram if you make this!  I’d love to see!!
