Be prepared to fall in love. Or is it just me whose heart skips a beat at the sight of organized craft supplies?? Because seriously, this space is making me so giddy! I think I’ve stepped it up from craft room to official Place in Progress Studio. What do you think??
If you follow me on Instagram (which you totally should!), you would have seen that I finally painted these shelves that have been in my basement for years. No joke. I made them forever ago. They are Ana White’s $10 picture ledges and so simple to make! They were my first solo build project, high five!
I’ve been using my kitchen island as “my studio” because I couldn’t seem to keep my workspace in my studio clear enough to paint a sign or type away on my computer. I knew I needed to get some shelves up ASAP! So, I kicked my own butt into gear, painted them and hung them up! It seriously didn’t take me as long as I thought it would. Another case of procrastination.
One of the reasons I love this space so much and that it gets the most gorgeous light in the morning and well into the afternoon. It’s just beautiful and inspiring and makes me want to create! I knew I had to get myself moved back in here instead of being surrounded by dirty dishes 😉
Before I put the shelves up, I had all of my paints stored in a box. It was working okay, but I really had a hard time seeing the colors and the box took up so much room on my desk. It also became a place for piling other things on top of. Plus, how can you store away all of those beautiful colors? They are artwork all on their own. So, on the shelf they went! Front and center left, in rainbow order of course 🙂 As Alex told me, “you have stacks of paint, mom!”. Ha!
I popped my ombre Ball jars up there that I painted a few weeks back! They love their new home.
These hold my pens, pencils, paint brushes and scissors. All out of reach from my little munchkins’ hands! #momwin
There is also some sneaky hidden storage up top! The little gold box (that my stationary came in) next to my Give me Jesus sign holds sanding blocks and sawtooth hangers.
And on the other side, in the same box they came in, are my business cards! I just clipped one of my cards to the front to hide the Vistaprint design 🙂
I’m so thrilled with how this turned out! It’s everything I dreamed of and I didn’t have to spend a lot of money to achieve it! This is one of the many beautiful reasons to be happy! You can find the sign in the shop 🙂
And just one more of the paints because…
Don’t even ask me to tell you what is in the drawers because it’s not pretty. I haven’t planned out what I need in those yet but when I do, you will be the first to know! All I know, is my boys can’t reach my printer anymore and that’s a game-changer!
These drawers used to live under my desk, but the boys really enjoyed pushing them around the house and crashing into stuff. So, I took off the casters and stuck it up on top of my desk! They are working perfectly up there. I’m thinking of making one of the smaller drawers a little charging station for our iPad and my laptop. Another step to keep the top cleared off!
I could probably talk about this space all day long, but I should probably get to organizing the rest of the room 😉
Thanks so much for dropping by, y’all! If you love this space, please consider pinning and sharing it! It would mean the world to me!
Have an awesome Monday!
