It’s almost officially summer! Who’s excited?? Summer is probably my favorite time of year although, I tend to love every season the most when it is just beginning! But I think Summer is top 4 for sure 😉
I think I love this time of year so much because we can spend so much time outside! We’ve been busy playing baseball (with a soccer ball),
drawing with chalk,
fishing,
and playing with cousins!
You wouldn’t think so, but here in Ohio it can be scorching hot come June. We are always looking for a new way to stay cool! One of our favorite activities is to hang out Uptown Oxford and play in the fountains!
But sometimes, we don’t want to leave the front yard to stay cool! The boys love popsicles, but I wanted to make a healthier version that they could still enjoy! Alex is always asking for smoothies, so I froze up some of our favorite concoctions in popsicle molds similar to these.
- Almond Milk, Frozen Banana, Honey, Cocoa, Peanut Butter, Frozen Yogurt, Frozen Berries or Tropical Fruit
- Using a blender (we use a magic bullet) dump all of your ingredients in and blend it up! Pour it into your popsicle molds and put in freezer for a few hours, until firm.
- If you prefer fruity smoothies, leave out the cocoa and peanut butter in favor or frozen berries or tropical fruit!
Sometimes it is hard to decide between the two!
The chocolate peanut butter ones are my favorite! I can’t get enough! What is your favorite kind of smoothie? Make it into a popsicle!
