People keep asking if we have the nursery done and I have to stifle a chuckle because it looks like this.
Okay, so that blue artwork is gone and we have moved the twin bed into Alex’s room and the curtains have been switched out, but otherwise this is the “nursery”.
We plan on moving the wood furniture from the nursery to Alex’s room because it matches the headboard for his big boy bed. This was John’s bedroom set growing up. It needs a little love in the form of refinishing, but that is for another day. I love the chunky wood look for Alex’s room. I can’t wait to reveal his big boy room (once it’s finished)! We have started with some artwork that I shared last week.
We still need to:
-Put up all of the art
-Move furniture (bye-bye toddler bed/crib!)
-Make toddler bed rails
-Put together the twin bed
-Hang some shelves?
-Bring up the big rocker/recliner
-Paint new dresser
On the flip side (err, the other side of the hallway), we still have a blank canvas to work with. The nursery should come together quickly over the next few weeks (!!!).
Our to dos in there:
– Set up crib, changing dresser
-Hang tree art
-Hang these lovelies from my super talented sister and brother in law
-Hem curtains
Also, solely for the purpose of having these things written down somewhere, these are some of my favorite things Alex is doing these days.
He knocks on his door in the morning when he wakes up. (Knock, knock, knock, “Mom!” Knock, knock, knock, “Mom!”)
He calls me “mom”, which I’m still on the fence about.
He puts his finger up to his mouth and says “hmmm”.
He calls people on his “hand phone”
He hugs his baby brother in my belly, and gives him high-fives.
Happy Monday!
