Well, we successfully completed Alex’s first trick-or-treat last night! The cuteness around town was too much to handle, but our little farmer had my heart all night. He was so adorable going up to all of the businesses who were handing out candy. He would pick his piece out, put it in his bag, and immediately turn to grab more. A boy after my own heart. Of course we had the discussion that we only take one piece (repeated at each store) so other kids could also have candy. I’m pretty sure he didn’t process a word I was saying and just wanted his next piece of loot.
We had Luna dressed up as Alex’s sheep for all of 30 seconds before she gave a big shake and sheared her wool all off…I wish I had captured the disaster that was main street when she did that. I did manage to capture a few shots of her pre-shake. And by a few shots, I mean one of her, and one of her running away (already bald).
At least Alex only threw his hat a few times during the hour of trick-or-treating. It was pretty great to watch him try and throw his corn teether that I cleverly tied to his overalls. For some reason I foresaw the fact that he would get tired of it and give it a good chuck. One point to mom.
Trying to get a nice picture at the end of the night is never a very good idea.
But I did manage to get this sweet one on the way back to the car. It could also look like a headless daddy with a farmer boy in place of his head. You decide.
Overall, a really fun night with some quality family time. Oxford always throws a good uptown party!
We’re in for a rainy and possibly storming evening here. We aren’t sure if they will reschedule trick-or-treat or not. We plan on hanging around the house to pass out candy. Alex will just be making a cameo at a few of our friends houses tonight, especially if its a rainy one!
Hopefully you all get to enjoy your Halloween festivities tonight!
Here are just a few shots of Alex enjoying his Halloween projects today =]
