Okay, maybe not white, but a painted staircase.
Before my husband freaks out, I am JUST DREAMING dear.
I would love to rip up the old and not so pretty carpet and do something like this from Painted Therapy.
She even put my mind at rest about having slippy slidey stairs with a toddler (and a clumsy pregnant lady). She used an additive (like for porch paint) to make the paint slip-resistant. Genius! I would probably go with a lighter color for the runner though.
The reason my mind has been going to painting lately is because we want to paint all of the wood that is on our stairs (the railing, spindles, etc). I’m having trouble seeing how I will be able to paint around the carpet though. I have found ideas on how to use packing tape to pull carpet down but I have nothing to tuck the tape under. So, I am at a loss as how to not paint my carpet but paint the wood. Alas, I want to get rid of the problem (a.k.a. the carpet).
In the meantime, a girl can dream right?
