I’m sorry I’ve been such a blogging slacker lately! My mind has felt like mush in the writing department. Marathon training is picking up, I’m trying to get my Etsy shop going again with things for spring/summer, Alex needs more and more entertainment as he gets older and I’ve just been hanging out with John =]

I don’t know how working moms do it. Honestly. I’m exhausted at the end of the day! I’m not saying I don’t work all day, because I do. Chasing a toddler; making sure he is clean and fed and happy is quite an undertaking. But, having to do all of that after going to work all day? Wow. So, lately, I’ve been trying to find balance with all of my daily tasks.
I’ve figured out that I have to try to get up before Alex does so I can get some things done while he isn’t awake (and undoing everything I’ve just done!) Everyday it’s a struggle to get out of my warm bed, but I never regret having that hour or two to clean, craft, write or just have breakfast without a little munchkin mooching off me. Not to mention, I get to drink a hot cup of coffee all in one sitting!

We were able to get some yard work done this weekend before it decided to snow for 3 days straight! What the heck, Mother Nature? We (finally) pulled out our dead plants from last year so the new ones could start growing. Turns out they already started and we just couldn’t see them, ha! Now I have to figure out how to prune my rose bushes without killing them…I also want to try my hand at growing strawberries this summer! The previous owners of our home left 2 strawberry pots, so I thought, why not? No matter that I feel like the woman from the Miracle Gro commercial “I should be arrested for crimes against potted plant kind”. Maybe I need Miracle Gro for my strawberries!
Alex had is first (read: warm up for the community one) Easter egg hunt yesterday! I couldn’t get any pictures because he was moving too fast to pick up all the eggs he could! I had no idea he would have any interest in an egg hunt, but boy, did he prove me wrong! He even snuck a jelly bean without me knowing!
On a totally unrelated note: I got new running shoes yesterday! They are the same as my old ones, just the next model! Aren’t they obnoxious? I am in love with them! They are the Saucony Kinvara 3, in case you care.
