Happy Monday everyone!
This past weekend we enjoyed a little vacation to Boyne Mountain up in Michigan.
John, Alex and I went with Sarah, Jose and Parker! Alex did wonderful for the 8+ hour car ride up to beautiful Northern Michigan. It has been quite a while since we have been up this far north, and I loved it! There was a ton of snow and the conditions were perfect for skiing (and for visiting an indoor water park =])
The boys spent most of the weekend skiing while Sarah and I hung out with the little guys. We did manage to get out skiing Friday night and that was just about as much cold as we wanted to handle!
On Saturday, while John and Jose went out to ski some more, Sarah and I took the babies to Avalanche Bay. It was so much fun! Alex took a little time getting used to everything, but once he was comfortable, I couldn’t keep up with his enthusiasm! Parker really enjoyed being dipped in the kiddie pool =] We even took them on the Lazy River, which was probably the poorest decision we made all day. Once we were on the tubes, everything was fine, but the loading and unloading with two babies who can’t swim was a complete disaster! We definitely felt judged by all the people watching us struggle as we loaded and unloaded our infants into tubes! At least we strapped them in lifejackets before we took them! Overall, it was fun and got us out of the cabin =]
Afterwards, Alex and Parker passed out in the car on the 5 minute drive back to the cabin. We decided to let them sleep in their carseats for a while. They were wiped out! And yes, Alex did fall asleep while biting his coat. I don’t know, just go with it.
We left Boyne mid morning on Sunday and were able to spend a few hours with my mom on the way back to Ohio.
We had such a fun vacation! If you are looking for a little weekend away, check out Northern Michigan! (That’s my plug for my home state that I love!)
Lots of DIY projects on the way, hopefully this week!
