Today I want to share a quick and easy way to organize your yarn stash that (if you’re anything like me) is no doubt taking over your craft room/area!
One of my first pins ever on Pinterest was this photo from Prudent Baby. I’ve been drooling over it forever. Hello, beautiful.
I absolutely love how it’s organized by color; makes it so easy to find what you need! But, when I started looking around for said wine rack or shoe organizer to use as my yarn organizer, I had a little bit of sticker shock. The cheapest I found came in at around $45 and it did not have near enough cubbies for all of my yarn! Not in budget to say the least!
Last week, while I was thrifting for my guest bedroom makeover, I came across this little gem for 18 bucks! Yes, please; thankyouverymuch!
This is what my yarn situation was before my steal of a deal find.
Um, yikes. Not exactly easy to find (or untangle) the yarn I needed! Tell me, how can yarn that just sits get so tangled together?? I’m baffled.
So after some major untangling, rewinding, and sorting (with help from my apprentice, who is boycotting nap, of course) I finally know what yarn I have! Apologies for my little faucet face. He’s still pretty darn cute even with boogs coming out of his nose all. the. time.
I love it! Eventually I will give it a couple coats of paint (in a color TBD), but for now I needed to get everything out of that plastic “organizer” for my sanity. Now looking at it, I probably need some more yellow yarn to fill that upper right cubby…I have a problem.
