Today I would like to share with you all my very own Pinterest fail.
I was hoping to get some really cool art up in my guest bedroom before my sister and her family got here. Well, I did get some art up, but it was not great. Let’s just say when I sent a picture to Sarah to get her thoughts, she told me it looked like silly string. Point taken.
Here was the original inspiration picture that I pinned from Better Homes and Gardens.

I totally get the silly string reference. Thanks for the honesty, Sarah! What are sisters for??
Anyways…those sat there for over a week before I pulled the trigger on another art attempt. I wanted something a little bolder since the walls are so neutral, so I started with a coat of bright blue to cover up my silly string lines.
I ended up doing two coats of blue (the second was a lighter shade because I ran out of the first color). Then I went in with a dry brush and some aqua colored paint. I just did a few spots with this to give it a little depth (I have no idea what I’m talking about; I just wanted more colors)
While all of this was drying I was playing with Alex, who was waiting so patiently.
A little later (probably after bed time) I painted some chopped up toilet paper rolls (in vanilla)! Hooray for toilet paper art!
I found a few inspiration pictures on Pinterest for some flowery toilet paper roll art and thought it would go with my beachy theme a little bit. So after a little maneuvering and rearranging this is what I came up with! I’m thinking it might need some more flowers, but I’ve been known to overdo my crafts a little. I’m trying to hold back.
