Hello there! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far! I’ve had a super productive weekend. Friday I managed to clean the entire house (my parents are here for the weekend to visit Alex us).<—–This is me qualifying why I cleaned my entire house. Sad?
Today, I started my day off with a 7 mile run. It was a little rough for the first 3, but after I got into a groove, the rest flew by! It didn’t hurt to have a running buddy to talk to! We ended at Starbucks for a little post run coffee and walked back to my place. It was a beautiful morning for a run, 60 degrees! I loved running in shorts and a tshirt in the middle of January.
Today, John and my dad changed out our chandelier (c. 1995) in Alex’s playroom. Every time John walked in there, he ended up knocking his head into the low hanging light. It got old fast! Now we have a smaller, less brassy/glassy light in there. Woot! Thanks guys!
We also hung up our reclaimed beam mantle (thanks, dad, for all your help!) I’m in love with the finished product!! I got a 12 foot beam from the Habitat ReStore for $25! They cut it in half so I could get it home in my little car. I’m a big fan of repurposing something old and the ReStore is full of great finds! Plus the people are so friendly and helpful! Double score!
Here it is!
We’ve been relaxing and watching football the rest of the day! It’s been great =]
This past Thursday, Alex had his 9 month checkup. How can it be that he’s already 9 months old??
The sign says it’s true, it must be true! He’s working on all sorts of new things! It’s so fun to watch him explore and discover. While waiting for the doctor (for 45 mins) he managed to destroy the paper rolled out on the table. Hey, there’s only so much I can do with a naked baby in a doctor’s office for that long! I’m sure everyone was having a good laugh outside the door as I sang, tickled, fed and sang some more!
Alex measured 27 1/2 inches and weighed in at just over 16 lbs, putting him <3rd percentile for weight for his age. The doctor didn’t seem worried about his weight since he is hitting all of his milestones and because he has always been a little peanut. She just told us we need to start putting yogurt, butter, and sour cream on all of his food (lucky!). He seems to be enjoying that so far.
