Good morning!
Today I thought I’d share a simple DIY that I completed yesterday! I have been searching for curtains to go in my son’s room but couldn’t find exactly what I wanted (especially any that were in my price range). Window coverings can be so pricey! I was super excited when I came across this tutorial over at Shanty 2 Chic for easy no-sew curtains.
I did end up sewing the two hems instead of using hot glue as in the tutorial. Also, in the interest of using what I already had on hand, I hot glued ribbon strips to the top instead of using the clip on rings. I found this idea on Pinterest (go figure). Unfortunately, I couldn’t get to the actual tutorial, the blog seems to be down or gone. Since Alex’s window isn’t that big, I was able to use a smaller drop cloth from Lowe’s for around $11! After buying the paint, I think my total cost was around $13 for two panels! Can’t beat that =] I should mention that I already had a curtain rod in his room!
Here is the finished product:
As you can see, I need to put another coat of acrylic paint on there since you can see where it didn’t cover fully! But they are great for now! I love how they turned out. They are exactly what I had in mind for his room =]
