Ok. Let’s be real here. I’ve never, ever kept to any resolution that I’ve made in the past. I get really gung ho- then, after about 5 days I’m bored and onto a new something or other. So this year, I’m trying to be realistic. I just want to make small changes/improvements that I can actually achieve, and in the long run, they will cause bigger changes–hopefully.
So a few things I really need to work on:
Make exercise a part of my daily life.
This one I constantly struggle with. I have this issue with thinking I’m still 17 and being thin and fit comes naturally. Well, let me tell you, after a baby has taken over your body, nothing seems where it should be. I don’t want to look 17 again (because really, I earned these curves). I just want to be the best me I can be and I want to set a good example for my son and any future children we are blessed with. I’ve gotten a jump start on this one with marathon training! Week one-15 miles- in the books! Woot!
Take more pictures
I’m sure my husband would argue on this one because he already thinks I’m the mamarazzi. Judging by the thousands of photos I have of Alex in 9 months, he might be right. But, looking at my iPhoto, you would think all I do is hang out with an infant (and you might be right, what can I say? He’s a blast. And so good looking =]). But, seriously, I just need to learn how to use the awesome camera we have!
Get (and stay) organized
Hey, I can organize with the best of ’em. Staying that way is a whole other ball game. I’m a hoarder saver of things I will absolutely craft something out of one day (enter oatmeal cans, veggie cans, spaghetti jars…thanks, Pinterest). I should probably get that under control. Overall, I’m what they call a piler with a type B personality. I can walk past clutter until it eats me alive. I really just need to find a system for lazy organizers like me!
Hopefully I can stick to these goals this year. I think it would definitely improve my overall enjoyment of life. I know it will improve John’s enjoyment of life if I finally clean up my crafting pit area!
