For once, I am happy I was late taking the pictures this month because Alex decided to start pulling himself up on his 7 month birthday! I would have missed putting this important milestone on the board, and lets face it, that would have been a tragedy. He is a lean, mean, army crawling machine and is getting into everything! I will say, it is so nice to be able to set him down on his bottom without having to worry about him face-planting (for the most part).
Christmas has arrived in the Reineke Household! Luckily, Alex was only interested in the tree for a few days. I still catch him sneaking under the tree to unplug it when he thinks I’m not looking. Unbeknownst to him, I’m always looking. Moms really do get extra eyes on the day of birth. I just chalk his indiscretions up to him not being ready for Christmas, few are in the early days of November. He will just have to learn that we do Christmas early in this family.
Alex had his first babysitters last night that weren’t family. I can’t lie, I was super nervous about leaving him, but it was definitely time for John and I to go on a date. We went and saw Argo and I don’t think I have ever been so nervous in my whole life about a movie! I couldn’t sit still and I hid in my coat for basically the whole film, it was intense. Meanwhile, back at home, Alex was having a blast with Justin, Mike, and Tyler (yes, it takes three grown men for me to be comfortable leaving my baby). They tuckered him out like I’ve never seen (see above picture). The sitter-induced coma came on not long after the culprits left. I’m so thankful he did so well! It makes me want to cry puts my mind at ease that he is okay without John and me around. Date night was a blast and hopefully we can work it in more regularly, if our sitters don’t mind coming back for more!
